Vioscapes was founded in 2023 by Steve Stephens, who brought over 15 years of experience with natural and reusable materials to the venture. His passion for eco-tourism and business develop- ment inspired him to fill a critical gap in the market for durable and sustainable outdoor garden- ing materials. The turning point came after a meeting with the Chao Plasticos del Mar Founda- tion in 2022, where two alarming statistics stood out: less than 9% of all plastics are recycled and reused, and by 2050, plastics in the ocean will outweigh the fish that live there.

Leaving behind a successful business growth consultancy, Stephens assembled a team of like-minded professionals and partnered with Thrive Five and Thrive Outside, receiving strategic direction, guidance, and financial support. This collaboration culminated in the launch of Vios- capes in April 2024, with the mission of creating innovative gardening products from reclaimed ocean plastics and natural fibers.

Vioscapes is at the forefront of revolutionizing gardening practices with its innovative approach. Their Raised Garden Beds and EcoVioTM Composite Planters are crafted entirely from their pro- prietary EcoVioTM Composite, which is made from recovered plastics and organic materials. This durable material is 100% recycled and includes 40% ocean plastics. With a steadfast commitment to zero new plastic usage, active participation in plastic cleanup initiatives, and eco-friendly packaging practices, Vioscapes is paving the way for a more sustainable gardening industry. Their mission is clear: to reclaim 10 million pounds of ocean plastics in the next 10 years and enable people to enjoy gardening with a purpose.
